The Jindo Project was founded in 2001; a group of 4 worked diligently to re-home unwanted Jindos beginning to appear in California animal shelters. Over the past 6 years, the Jindo Project has grown slowly but staidly as people have become more aware of the breed and as the number of unwanted Jindos has risen. In 2006, The Jindo Project formally incorporated and received 501(c)(3) status. Unlike every other breed rescue group in the U.S., we do not have the support of any Jindo breeders.
