Eye Care For Your Small Dog
Many small dog owners face the problem of goopy eyes, a residue that builds in the corner of the eye. This will eventually create a stain can run from the inside corner of the eye all the way to the muzzle, leaving the appearance of a track mark.
This is caused by the hard water in our area. Many minerals are in our local water supply. If you just check your shower stall & kitchen sinks (or watch the Television commercials) you can identify rust - from heavy iron deposits, lime, calcium and others. These minerals are in our tap and spring or filtered water. (Check to see where your spring water was bottled.) These deposits are what cause the residue in the eye.
To prevent this from happening you can provide you pet with an alternative, distilled water. Distilled water has been processed, removing these minerals. Large dogs can absorb and process the amount of minerals in our water, smaller dogs have a build up of minerals and that build up comes out as the goop in the eyes.
