Many clients have an outrageous task of trying to stop their beloved pets from eating the most disgusting thing around - their own fecal droppings.   This anomaly occurs when the dog develops a very bad habit, some say it because the pet has something missing in their diet.  No matter the cause, it is a task to start working on immediately to prevent illness.  Parvo can be transmitted to your pet through another dog's feces, as well many other undesirables.  Below are a few of the solutions pet owners have utilized:

Many pet owners add enzymes to their pets food to change the smell and taste of their own waste.

ACCENT (the stuff in the grocery store) is a good alternative added to the pet food as a supplement; however it is MSG (Monosodium Glutamate).

Adding SEP made by Solid Gold added as a supplement to the pet food is another alternative.  This has particular solution contains NO MSG (Monosodium Glutamate).

It is imperative when trying to break the pets developed habit the yard or your pet's favorite spot be picked up and always remains clean.  This is not as easy as it sounds!  Your pet has other ideas and after he has made a deposit will try to swing around and snatch it.  Be aware and be quick.  Not allowing the opportunity to eat waste will add a fighting chance to break the habit.

If you use a pet sitter or a family member to care for your pet, make sure they understand how important it is to pick up immediately.
